Short profile 2013 – completed higher education at UKF in Nitra, Faculty of Arts 2014 – completed vocational training with certificate in stove-building She has been working as clay, lime and tadelakt plasterer, clay decorator, clay floor builder since 2013. Teaching experience: since 2014, she has been a trainer at the courses of ArTUR on the professional topic of clay and lime, clay and lime paints and fixatives, as well as on the topic of marketing and communication. On behalf of the ArTUR organisation, she presented clay plasters at conferences and gave practical seminars in Slovakia, Czech Republic, France and Norway. |

• Clay in design: cultural and historical diversity • Design techniques of clay plaster using colour, texture, surface finish and thickness of the layer • Composition of fine and coloured finish coats using own made clay plaster, manufactured mixes, • Colouring and texturing additives • Suppliers of manufactured products • The colours of earth • Basic knowledge of colour theory: colour symbolism, colour ordering, colour contrasts, effects of colour • Basic knowledge of interior design: surfaces and light, accents, subdivision of surfaces, • ssessment and preparation of background • Surface finishes and how to create them sequencing of steps, tools and materials • Joins between clay surfaces and oins with other materials • wareness of health and environmental issues in designing with clay plaster • Preparation and application of fine and coloured finish coats: · Current legislative workplace requirements · Relevant codes of practice and current standards for quality of work and materials · Tools, machinery and equipment · The order of work |

Skills | • Create a design concept for the combination of two different surfaces in a room
• Prepare clay plasters for decoration varying the hue and lightness of the manufactured or own made plasters by either adding pigments or by mixing the plasters • Make and compare sample boards and sample wall panels with own made and manufactured plasters • Prepare the background • Protect adoining surfaces • Subdivide wall surfaces, make different plasters based on the sample boards, and apply them according to the design • Make different surface finishes and textures oated, sponged, or with decorative surface structures • Execute oins between clay surfaces and with other materials • Calculate quantities, check supplies and prepare materials • Select and use appropriate tools, machinery and equipment for the preparation and application of fine and coloured finish coats including the surface finish • Organise the work place • Comply with current legislation, official guidance and workplace safety requirements at all times |

Responsibility and autonomy | • Have an appreciation of the aesthetic and environmental impact of different plaster surfaces and finishes
• Describe the design concept making reference to contrast, colour balance and accents • With the materials provided, plan and organise the preparation and application of several fine and coloured finish coats for usual and predictable building sites, according to the design brief • Awareness of the value of experimental work in the personal creative process • Control the transference of the design control the accurate colouring and texturing of the plasters according to the design brief • Work in accordance with the building schedule and with other trades, identify problems and record and report in accordance with occupational procedure • Advise on design possibilities with clay plaster and on application techniques |
