·        has obtained a higher or higher professional education (any field!) and has at least one year of experience in the field in which he wants to take the master’s exam.

Ing. Matjaž Majdič (Born in 1965, safety engineer, master painter since 2001, owner of a painting company with over 50 years of tradition).

Candidate must send written applications to take the master’s exam, along with proof of fulfillment of the conditions and other required documentation, on the prescribed form, which can be obtained from the Chamber Craft and Small Business of Slovenia or at their web page.

The course of taking the master’s exam is determined by the Rules on master’s exams.

At the master’s exam, the candidate must prove both practical and professional – theoretical knowledge. The sequences of taking individual parts of the master’s exam are:

·        Professional – theoretical part,

·        Practical part,

·        Managerial – economic part (knowledge that is necessary for running a company) and

·        Pedagogical – andragogic part.

Exam for the professional-theoretical part must ensure that the candidate will be capable of (successfully) doing professional-theoretical knowledge at the required level, which will enable her/him to perform independent and high-quality professional work and organize and manage work processes. That is why the candidate must first take the professional theoretical part of the master’s exam. Exam areas:

·        technology

·        measurements, calculations and work standards

·        machines and tools

·        aesthetics and design

Learning outcomes according to PSA qualification portfolio:

the importance and can use or implement:

·      knowledge and use of all types of materials in painting

·      knowledge of the content of chemistry, physics and mathematics related to the professional field

·      knowledge of tools, accessories and handy machines

·      knowledge of different types of foundations and their properties, e.g., wall, wood, metal, plastic

·      knowledge in the field of measurements, calculations, work norms and business

·      knowledge of the legal provisions on health and safety and other laws related to the profession

·      knowledge in the field of restoration and probing of older coatings and techniques

·      knowledge of the basics of aesthetics and design

·      using the most appropriate painting technique and tools

·      correct measurement and execution of all necessary calculations and their use in practice

·      the high-quality painting and design technique

·      machines and tools

·      aesthetics and design

·      creating new surfaces and objects

·      preparation and re-painting surfaces and objects

·      restoration of surfaces and objects

·        Project-oriented teaching

·        Practical examples and expert tips

·        Action orientation

·        Own laptop, notebook, or similar.

Candidates who achieve only 50% to 60% of all possible points in the written exam must also take the oral exam. An individual oral exam should not last longer than 20 minutes and 15 minutes for preparation.
