Learning outcomes according to PSA qualification portfolio: In the course, students are introduced to older painting methods and paint materials used in the restoration and preservation of old buildings and interior parts. They learn about the development of paint materials, methods and tools over time and get to know the laws and regulations that apply to protected houses in Iceland. An account is given of the main paint materials of the past such as glue paint, linseed oil, lime and tempera paint, their structure, properties and use. After that, the painting of marble and wood models is discussed, and the students work on simple projects in that field.
