Due to the large number of building materials used (e.g. lime, clay, wood) and their different properties, the renovation of half-timbered houses is a particular challenge. The greatest enemy of the timber frame is moisture. The aim is to impart specialist knowledge: damage to half-timbered buildings, sustainable and durable renovation of half-timbered buildings, modernization options in existing buildings, inventory, moisture protection of the facade, material selection for coating and plaster, heat losses and energy saving in half-timbered houses. If half-timbered houses have to be renovated, special knowledge is required in the selection of materials and craftsmanship. |
